If it had not been for Graf. - Hohenfels - and the border, duty in the 3/2 ACR would have been a breeze.
But I remember times for Tank Qualifications and the like, The duty could have been fairly tough.
Bein' up there, pulling Guard Duty on the Tank Park, it was sometimes HELL!
And, you can be assured, I pulled my share of guard duty in them days.
I kin 'member once in the Tank Park, the snow was coming down sideways, and the
wind was Howling, Then the O.D. came by for me to "stand inspection."
I was very happy to know his jeep seemed very, very, WARM.
In contrast, I felt froze.
