Any buddy know where to find these camps on Google earth? I know they are around Rotz and Regan but can"t find them. Or are they gone?

Camp May is NW of Regen on Hwy 11 about 3 miles or so
48°59’13” N 13°03’52E

Camp Reed is South of Rotz on Regensburger Str about 2 miles
49°19’00” N 12°30’05” E

I was stationed at Rotz Border camp in 1965 with the 9th cav

I did a little work at Regen on their teletype

Rotz Border Camp is just out of Rotz, Germany up on top of the hill and to the left

I see Rotz camp may have been changed to Camp Reed

Yup, it got changed to Camp Reed, after 2d Cavalry's commander in WW II, Col. Charles Reed. I visited Camp Reed in July 2011, but couldn't get inside. I think the German polizei use it now for training.

You come out of Camp Reed and go to the left down an incline you come to Wald Casino on the right. It was a little bar in the woods.

We went that way looking for the bar. Shannon couldn't remember where it was. Turned around and went back the way we came in from Rotz.

Denny.Dave and myself looked for that bar in July like he was saying I remember coming out the gate and going left walking down the hill a ways and it being on the right side out in the woods a bit just like you were saying I think it is gone we did not see anything at all I do not renember it being off the road that far.I remember the place well I went down there one night (unauthorized) and met a cute fraulein that showed me a good time, it was not so easy climbing that border camp fence, great memories...

I've got lots of old memories of that area. 1965 and 66.  I stold a 3/4 ton there at the cassino and took it to /Rotz swnow and ice .. went down the hill into Rotz .. nothing goen on so I came back.  met a cute gal from Roding there at the cassino .. I looked at google earth and there was still a building there.  must have been a few years back (the picture) .. must have torn it down then?  I was in the 2nd Recon Sqdn 9th cav .. headquarters permenent party there running the radio room with 2 other guys .. main unit was in Munich Warner Kasern A, B, C, and D troop helicopter they rotated by the month up there .. I was here permenent

Hoffman was the cook .. and some medics too

What were you foing over there in July?

2d Cavalry came back from Afghanistan and we went over to see all the ceremonies and party with the guys. 2d Cavalry is in Vilseck now, not far from Amberg. Amberg was where 3d Squadron's Pond Kasern and Shannon's M Company was, and Camp Rotz/Reed was one of their border camps in the late 1960's I believe until 1991.

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
