Dragoon Base

Connecting the Troopers of Today with the Veterans of Yesterday.

I want to take the time to say that I am very glad that I have found the Dragoon Base site. The Dragoon Base here is extremely beneficial not only for me but to others that belong here and will eventually find their place here like myself. I also want to thank some of the old timer and new timer Cav Troopers, Specialist Dennis Hansen, Sgt. Frank Moseley, Sgt. Carl Kreitzer, Sgt.Thomas Blaszkiewicz, and SSG. Wayne Dixon for joining my Pond Barracks group page and for the ones posting photos and comments and I hope that you all will continue to post for not only our memories sake but for our families in future generations to come. This serves as a time to reflect and reminiscence of a place and time through history, our history, and that though in time we grow old in the ages to come and these places and things that change so rapidly at a "quick-time" pace that this will always be a great and monumental legacy for us, and to our children and our grandchildren and their grandchildren that some of us will never forget that special era there. Many can not say they have been through what we have been through. We all have shared in the equal love, joy, fun, excitement, hate, heart-ache and even despair at times. There is an unusual something that keeps drawing us back to revisit these times of yesteryear. We always want to go back. Your sites, groups, comments and memorial photos will always be worth a great deal of sentimental value to them and to me. Even if that their are some that may have had tragedies or a bad experience there and I know of a few including my own. I hope to see as many more friendly troopers visit us here and visit my Pond Barracks group page soon. In High and honorable Regards to All, Toujours Pret! -Sgt. Mark Meyers

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
