Dragoon Base

Connecting the Troopers of Today with the Veterans of Yesterday.

I am going to visit Bindlach in July and I understand there is a museum near Hof.  I would guess that the Rock is closed now, but is there other things to see there.  Please let me know.

The Rock isn't closed, but is a little town of its own now called Bindlacher Berg. Not many of the original buildings left, but there are a few if you look hard enough. The headquarters building is still there, but is some type of retirement home or something. I was there in 2008 with Pat Biddy and 2011 with another friend. The old motor pool building is still there too and a few more in that area. All the old barracks have been torn down and rebuilt.

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
