Thank you for your service to this fallen trooper, Larry.
We have been scrambling to find a representative of the Regiment/Association to attend the services.
Dave
I found out that his father is a graduate of West Point class of 81 and he has another brother who is a Cpt in the Army and west point graduate also. I can't make it tomorrow but I will make the internment on Monday.
Thing is, Larry, we are looking for an official representative to present gold combat spurs and Regimental history to the family of Lt Hidalgo. The Sergeant Major that was supposed to do it had to pull out because of conflicting appointments. Been trying to get hold of Chris Golden to see if they found anybody but haven't gotten a reply.
The message from Bill Shaaf said Lt. Hidalgo's brother was the Casualty Assistance Officer. He is the Soldier who has to be contacted about anything to do with the memorial/funeral.
Dusty,
Just noticed you listed yourself among the fallen troopers. Careful brother...life is short enough!

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
