Dragoon Base

Connecting the Troopers of Today with the Veterans of Yesterday.

I would like to invite everyone to join my "Pond Barracks" FB group page. I started it before I learned of the Dragoon Base site here. I thought it would be a good idea to let you old and new timers in on it. I try to post old photos but I am limited, and then I have to resort to google images that I do not have. It is a bit of an undertaking, however it is coming along great. I would really appreciate and welcome anyone to join. If you join you may want to scroll from the very bottom going up due to the order of events. It may be that you troopers will find something there that you can relate to. You may also want to save any image there for your own personal file folder on your computer or post it here. Thank you. -Sgt. Mark Meyers

Howdy, my name is Joe Pons and I served with Charlie Troop at Christenson Barraks from 1977- 1981 then at Pond barracks with India Troop from 1985- 1988. Retired in 1998 a First Sergeant with the 4th ID. Would do it all over again if given the chance. Keep up the good work Mark.

Thanks for the encouragement Top.

Just another great opportunity to connect and share our memories from the past. I highly encourage everyone to give it a try, it has been a blast!

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
