I was at Pond Barracks about 10 years ahead of you. Feb 66 to Aug 68.
Hq Troop, worked in the PLL Office of Squadron Maint and then in the S-4 Shop.
I served in I Troop from 1974 thru 1976
I was in L TRP. From fall of 77 to 1980 . HQ PLT Maintance.
I served 72-75, HHT Support Platoon.
We are here, but the issue as I see it a lot of us from I Troop were at the Burg in the early 70,s.
I was stationed there 1974-1976. Times were different in Germany then. Amberg was a different kind of place.
The Border duty was great!!!!! When Pond Barracks was being up graded in 75 we got the chance to spend 6 mos at Camp Rotz , I was in heaven. When I was stationed in K-Town in 88 I drove back to Amberg on a weekend things had changed. No more Hawaii Bar, No more Micky's Strip Bar in Graff. Just glad I was there when we had M551's.
78-80, 81-84 K, L, HHT. Just couldn't get enough!
This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
