Dragoon Base

Connecting the Troopers of Today with the Veterans of Yesterday.

MAJ Dick Winters, the real one, not the actor from the series, died Monday.  I felt like I had lost a personal friend all day.  I had never met the man but I have known many WWII vets and have lost many old friends from the "Greatest Generation".  Take a moment to remember what these brave young men did for us and our children's children.  They are quiet about their deeds.  They are true heroes.  Rest in Peace Brother.

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
