H Troop, 1963---1966, Then back to Fort Knox as a Drill Sgt and Armor OCS----Then back to the 1St Sqdn in 1967

Hello all from a former E-trooper. Was stationed in Bamburg from 85-86. The gates bring back a few memories as does the parade fiels and motor pools...lol damn but those were great days.

This was the welcome sign before HHT.

tjis was the Halftrack in front of the field and HHT.

The field and motor pool in the back.
This Chopper was the "Dueler's" comming in to inspect the post that day.
The photo was taken thru the third story window of E troop.

This gate is long gone! The entire post is contained now, and the entire wall around "Cav Country" is no longer there. Units of the 173rd Airborne are temporarily located here while barracks in Vicenza are built/renovated.

8th Colonel of the Regiment Nelson B. Sweitzer 9 Jun 1886 – 29 Oct 1888



This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
