Anybody happen to know when 1/2 ACR transitioned from M60A1s to M60A3s?  We always talk about the A3s being old, but if I have the history correct the A3s only went into service about 1979.  That would suggest the ones at the Rock could only have been about 4 years old at the latest when I got there in '83.  Does anyone know the actual date they arrived?

Nice to see everyone adding to the group, sorry that I have not been on lately, been having a bunch of eye surgeries, now the VA say I have to go through the all again, have had 11 in the last 3 yrs, put me down for a little depression. If someone wants to take over as administer, pm me and we can keep this group going, I am just so tied up with the surgeries to do anything else right now. Thanks and God Bless.

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
