Roger Godby, don't know if you remember Chuck Minnick but he lives in Phoenix also.He was a tanker in F troop 79-80.

LOL Dave, we were so short on manpower the jeeps only had 2 men. I do not think I ever had a gunner except on the border and he was usually a tanker or mortarman

I knew Pvt Shultz (the tanker) - he was OK!! Not sure on the wheel mech - he wouldn't last long around me with that attitude ... lol! I'd be the one fixing his mess (he was a 63B, I was a 63C and 63H). But I've known 63B's that could only break things ... lol!!

The only other mech I can recall is the little turret mechanic that was scared up.

Rodger, I remember a wheel mech, big southern boy, carried 3 tools in his tool box,a 12 in crescent, a 10 in flat tip and a 3 lb hammer.if he couldnt fix it with the wrench or screwdriver he would smash it with the hammer and order you a new one.
