Hello guys, good to see some fellow Fisters again. Lucky for me i was pulled off the recruiting trail and sent to Germany in preperation for Desert Storm.Seems Iron Troop had a 2Lt. and 2 new privates, then they add me after bieng away from fist for a bit. What a thrill. Lots of fsat training on equipment and tactics i wasn't used to but had a great crew and everything went good. After returning from Desert Storm we went through the dreaded process of drawing down the unit.So i had right around a year with the Cav and wouldn't trade it for nothing in the world. After supporting just about all the different types of Mvr . Units in the Army, I still have to say Cav is the best..

How true Steve,In 83 I was at the border with M co,Upon returning to Amberg I was promoted toE-5 and and now supported I troop. After 2-3 days I was off as an umpire for REFORGER with my crew. Following REFORGER it was back for another border tour with I troop followed by hooking up with HOW Battery in GRAF for 45 days. I think I slept in my own bunk a total of 4-5 days in a 6 month period. I'm sure there was a side trip to Hohenfels in there somewhere, lol.

Kinda funny,FIST never went for groups,Not quite a Scout,Tanker,or Artilleryman, because we had to work with and learn about all 3 we mostly hung around each other. Also 'cause our Training Sked included whenever the Rgmt, Sqdn,Troop,Bttry,Plt went out we were there with them to include Grafs,Border Duty,Leadership Schools plus the Guard Duty and CQ"s. Did we ever sleep??

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
