Looking for K troop Co Greg Househoulder from 87-88. Anyone have a line on him?
Went to Oliver funeral service and gave the eulogy, it was heart breaking. God Bless Vickie and his family.
Reading about Oliver Talbert's passing got me to thinking about a time in 1976 we where on jeep patrol together out of camp May near a Checz ski resort. Oliver could speak fluent German. There where some German family's around our Jeep. I asked Oliver what they where talking about? He told me they where wondering why Americans where there on patrol. Last night on the news I saw that a lot of armor was being deployed back to Germany then to Poland. All the armor was painted brown from the desert areas. In 1976 all our Sheridans where starting to be painted brown camo getting ready for desert warfare I assumed at the time from green camo. Looks like they will be painting them green camo again!
Wow sorry to hear about Oliver's passing. I served with him in 1976 in Sgt Bristols platoon. He was a good man. I believe he Married a girl from Amberg.
We will remember all of our Brothers who can not be with us at The reunion in April.
As many of know Oliver Talbert passed away in December. He will be missed. He was in 1st plt. 1974-1977.
Brothers, I need some help. Who can tell me the soldiers that were with me on Reaction Force when the M113 K10 blew up on the border. It is of some importance so any assistance would be appreciated.
How is everyone? Looks like a storm is coming tonight. Need the rain.
I'm leaving early tomorrow, have a funeral of a retired major to go to in Arlington, VA, then Aberdeen Proving ground (Baltimore area to party) then Long Island, NY then Gettysburg. Long about trip but looking forward to being with the Cav again.
Wishing all a great weekend and a safe trip to Gettysburg later this week. K Troop, 1st Plt. mid 70's will be there in force once again! Last reunion there were 7 of us, this time looks like 9.
This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
