Hello, was anyone in the "NW Connection", stationed in Amberg 1975-78?  I'm currently living in Puyallup, Washington and have some friends and professional working relationships with Members of the Spec Ops Community at Ft. Lewis.  Mike Carlucci 206-940-7475......If you're around give me a call,  K-Troop & HQ 3/2 ACR two of the best years of my life.

You'll definitely cool down here, Bruce. Still in the 30's at night and low 50's during the day in Tacoma. Just finished the coldest April on record in Washington.

Back to the PNW on 15 May. It's getting too hot and 6 months in Vegas is enough!!

Being 100% disabled and out of the job market for many years I'm not up on local opportunities, but my kid might be able to come up with something. He is a furniture mover (works with military a lot) and has friends in several trades.

Yup, just a couple miles east of Crow's Butt is where we almost died. A buddy and I were doing a little bass fishing on a beautiful day and on the way back to the campground the wind kicked up. The current was going the same direction we were and a 60 mph wind was going the other way. We were in a heavy fiberglass Bellbuoy with an inboard Chevy. Gary was just trying to give it enough throttle to keep us pointed into the wind so we wouldn't capsize but the waves were throwing us completely out of the water. One of the scariest times of my life.

Next day we went the opposite direction just in case the same thing happened. The river was like glass and there was just enough wind to keep us in place against the current. We shut the motor off in the middle of the river and just sat there for hours until we fell asleep. That's when the jet starting buzzing us at about 600 mph. He made three passes on us, waving his wings on the third pass.

Went into a cove on the way back and hit a rock, breaking one of the prop blades off. It was a slow shaky trip back to Crow's Butt that day too, and the end of our trip.
Despite all the problems, we had a great time that I will never forget. Even caught a few smallmouths!
