"Flew into Maimi Beach BOAC....couldn't get to bed last night!"

The White Album of the Beatles came out when I was stationed at Merrill Barracks.
The PX was awesome on post and OC Smith had his number one hit "Little Green Apples"
on the juke box. The Gasthouse under the Castle was the place for the best beer in town
and the Russians were threatening on the Czech border. I was in HQ Communications as
Com Chief and a 72B20. I had a '58 VW Bus.....German Green and White with Surf Stickers
all over it. The best one was "Join our Team....Keep Newport Clean".

My buddy Dave was the Coach for the Little League team and was a Sgt. in S-2. Our CSM
was Foglio......it was 1968-1969! You should have been there!
