Yes Wayne, combat patch on the right. You have the option to wear any unit you've been in combat with on the right side, even if you aren't with that unit anymore.

Glad to hear the divot they left in your scalp is doing good. Sure hope the stones go as well.

Want to say HELLO! to all, just returned from VA had to go over and let them check out the cancer lancing they did on my head, they day it looks good.  I just have a  half dollar gap there at the present.

I still have to go back over Monday and Tuesday for appointments urology and spinal.  Let me know then, if they are going to go in through my back to get the stones out of  me.

The Cav. wearing the patch on the right shoulder must have been after they had been in combat with the unit.  The right shoulder is reserved for combat patches if I remember correctly.

wHEN i ARRIVED IN '84 7th was all upset that we were using the Dueler Dot pattern on Tanks - but in a static posistion it was the hardest to see - then they took away our Border Tabs! Never understood that move, but the SGM (Goss) let those that had them rotate out and just wouldn't let new arrivals sew them on...

DAVE - GET THAT CHECKUP.  I had heart problems before they installed two stints, then I fell and broke my spinal core and neck. now I am stuck in this chair.  No, I did not know that Ned was in the hospital, he sure has been doing a lot of travel to England.

We sure are having a group with heart cases, Hope they are all coming thru alright.  My best to all.

Dave - get in and insist on an echo gram and Heart Cath BEFORE you have an attack, and don'tbe surprised when they run a strip and ask you when you had one - thats how i found out that I'd had one, and thoought "well if thats it I'm not getting excited - and put the echo gram off till the day after the election (I do a little politicking) AND IT TURNED INTO A SLEEP OVER - GOT OUT ON VETERANS DAY. Can't stint a 100%blockage in the main and they don't break you open for a SINGLE by-pass so its thinners for me, which VA let me run out of - causing a trip by ambulance on Pearl Harbor Day - (oh and guess what - we almost wrecked but the adrenaline shot was great!)Can't wait for the next holiday - but at least i know why I felt like crap all summer. Our collective Cav can do attitude can be our undoing - so do yourself and family a favor and get in there. I did have to make a little speech at the local VA about refusing to die of neglect - and turned around to leave looked at the outer vets and realized I had started something - been good since...

Get checked Dave. I would sure hate to come here and find out you moved to Fiddlers Green. Your a good guy! Kinda ornery at times ,but, old horse soldiers tend to get that way. Life style does matter ,but, mostly I think it's genes. My family tends to go about about mid 70s both sides. There are exceptions to that.

I felt a lot better after the stints, Dave. I could walk a mile with no problem. You might want to look into it. I am having problems again because I'm a fried everything junky. Started to have pain last year.

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
