Sig is right about WOPorgin. However, it came I to common usage in WWII North African campaign after a forward observer called in a fire mission on three Italians In the open. After an entire hill was obliterated by DivArty who though the call was 3 BATTALIONS in the open. Lot of wasting of ammo stopped.

When the Italian imigrents came to this country way back when some of them didn't have the proper papers, hence With Out Papers was shortened WOP !
