John will be missed here but he'll be telling his storys on a much higher plain. His goat will be free-range and never to be gotten again. Oldtimers lost a good one.

Thank you, RC.

Well, he went out kicking and fighting like a trooper if it took 3.

Rest in peace, my friend.

Troopers, it is my duty to tell you that John Boyd reported to Fiddlers Green at 0400 this morning.  He suffered 3 major heart attacks.  RC

I wish I did, Wayne. Don't have any rosters for that period.

You know, one of the ingredients for the Regimental Punch IS plum brandy. Until recently it was the final ingredient, but American Whiskey was added for the Gulf War two reunions ago. This is from the old ceremony:

"Responding once again to the Nation’s call, the Regiment deployed to the Balkans as part of the Stabilization Force in Bosnia-Herzegovina. In honor of our Balkan peace keepers, a bottle of Slivovitz (Plum Brandy) is added to the mix as the final ingredient."

DAVE, I know about the weather, I am having the same type of weather here.  Mother and I were going to go get the Van washed, tough luck , maybe next week.  oh bye the way, do you have and old roster from G. company before we changed over to Troops for the year  59-61 when I was a member of the 2 A/C the first time, do need both.  To bad no one driving up to the reunion from here, would send the bottle of Plum brandy up for the punch bowl, still not opened.

The weather is cooperating perfectly today. Every time I've almost got myself convinced to go out and mow the yard, the wind starts blowing, the sky darkens, and it starts pouring rain. Then a little while later it clears up and is nice. Probably won't be getting the mower out today (either).

I don't know if it is something to do with the sun out west here Gene, but our cocktail hours are a lot longer and overlap from day to day.

Thank you, my friend. See you in a few days.

ok dave,.75 liter bottle it is. i'm doing some packing and then it will be almost cocktail hour

Comment by Dave Gettman on April 18, 2017 at 1:11pm

Thank you Gene. I think .75 liter is the smallest they make. Might have to leave some for the cleaning lady when I depart, or you can take it with you. I'm pretty partial to the XO, as it is REALLY smooth and has a little vanilla/caramel taste to it.

Comment by gene gunia on April 18, 2017 at 11:19am

dave, the smallest I could find in the xo brandy was .75 liter . I googled Williamsburg area and found there are two liqueur stores on the north perimeter of town in case you might want to find something smaller............or,i have had a large open bottle of regular e&j for about ten years with only a couple shots out of it.if you like I could bring it and fill your flask for you. myself being a Pollock from nj I would I would opt for the latter choice.
