HARRY, need to pick your memory.  Were you the medic at Camp Gates when the Sgt was caught in between the two track vehicles, I had served with him and had prepared his things for his brother who was to escort him back to the states.  My old memory does not recall.  I am going to contact STARS AND STRIPES for their obit column to obtain all of the information concerning his accident.  Would appreciate any help you can give me concerning this.  Need to get a time span so they can come up with the obit.

                                               A ROSE

A Rose by any other name is still name is still a Rose.

A Chrysanthemum by any other name is easier to spell.

I was poking around on Facebook posting on 2d Cavalry pages about the monument accident, when I blundered into the daughter and son of the guy I saved during the C-15 explosion. It was on the "I Lived in Bindlach, German (The Rock)" page and her post caught my eye because I saw the years 1973-74. I was there 1974-75 so I stopped to read the article. She was talking about being 8 years old when they left because her dad's three year tour had been cut short by a terrible accident. That's when I looked at her name and saw her maiden name was Brow, the same as the SSG I saved. Unfortunately he passed away in 2002, but he got another 28 years with his family.

I was at the VA hospital in Minneapolis yesterday and an employee told me there are staff shortages and a hiring freeze. Many employees are choosing retirement of just leaving . It is not good guys and you can sense it when going there. I look at the multiple amputees and people injured from IEDs. Pretty sad situation!

Speaking of bad weather, there may have been a tornado in Vilseck yesterday where the Regiment is home based. Among the many things damaged was the Fallen Dragoon Memorial, which was completely destroyed. Several of the memorial trees in the park, one planted for each fallen trooper, were heavily damaged or completely uprooted.

Hello Wayne.  It would have been nice if he were eligible but the timing was off.  The weather really hasn't been too bad in these parts.  Typical heat and humidity.  Jo and I still go to the casino. Some habits are harder to break than others.  We enjoy the atmosphere and don't go crazy.

Our best to you and Vi.

Thanks HARRY, for the information on John.   I was not for sure.  I had only know him from talking to him on our net.  I was retired when he had joined the 2nd.  Hope you and Jo are doing fine, I see from the weather man that you have been getting some of the bad weather that has been going around.  Have you folks been going over to the casino and doing any winning.  It has been a long while since we have been to any casino, sure wish that we could, but don't think I could even operate a slot any more.  Getting weaker all the time, my old hands are starting to become claws.  You folks take care, we send our best.
