RC did say they had 50 inches of rain in that area. I can't even imagine.

Just talked to RC. He and Gloria are fine. They are high enough that they have not flooded but can't get anywhere from his house. The roads are flooded. Said he has plenty of beans and rice so he'll be ok.

Hope Wayne is ok now that the storm is moving that direction. Hope he checks in soon.

Latest news showing people having to be rescued in Beaumont. Thoughts and prayers for R.C. and Gloria along with all the others affected by this unprecedented event.

Just heard on the 5:00 P.M. news R.C. Johnson home town ( Beaumont) has had 13.9 inches of rain today. That is a lot of rain falling on a already wet area.

Good afternoon Troopers ... ..

It has been a few weeks since I was able to get on Dragoon Base.Been traveling since Aug. 2 and now back in MA for 7 weeks. Traveled to Vermont, spent 2 nights with Col and Mrs Krawczyk, then to New Hampshire for a couple of weeks, then to Cathedral Pines Campground in Eustis, Maine. The GPS routed us through Canada (Quebec) to Maine. Got a FULL Inspection of the truck and camper going into Canada, about an hour in time lost.

At the campground in Maine, there was a mini 2nd Cavalry Reunion and camp out. Col Joe and Dolores Krawczyk, me and Cathy, Rick and Sue Martin, Stewart and Robin Smith were camping there. Ed Paquette and his wife drove up for a day. Dave Berry visited for a few hours. Had a great time, lots of tales swapped. We want to do it again, next summer, at the same campground.

Praying for all those in the Hurricane in Texas. Hope all are safe, dry, and in good health.

L to R: Col Joe Krawczyk, Dolores Krawczyk, Stewart Smith, Rick Martin, Frank Moseley

Has anyone heard from RC and Gloria? hope they came thru this ok, was hoping they might have been on the net. Would like to hear that they are ok.  Just a little rain in my area, but the ones down south, really bit the bullet.  HARVEY really did a job on them.  Quite a few years ago Galveston had a real bad one.

My area has had the most unusual August, much cooler and wetter then normal. The folks to our south are having it rough( Texas) and we pray that things will get better for the people of that great state, and they recover quickly .

Shannon, yes same weather down south here, 110 the last 2 days and a few more to come, right now 0700 and 70 deg. going up into the triple digits today. Try to do outside stuff early and spend the day in air conditioned house !

Shannon, you and Dennis take care.  I have been lucky so far only a little rain.  I was looking at some photos from down Houston way, it didn't look to good.  I hope RC and Gloria has managed to get bye the blunt of the storm down their way.
