Sunday night episode of Ken Burns Viet-Nam. Story line is about the start of the so called Tet Offensive . North Viet-Nam launch this offensive on 1/21/68. This is the date Dewight Birdwell of my home town was awarded his first Siver Star.

On Oct.21 my wife and I, her sister and husband will be attending a Banquet in Norman, Oklahoma where Birdwell will be inducted into the OKLAHOMA MILITARY HALL of FAME.

Birdwell for years was a member of the SUPRENE COURT of THE CHEROKEE NATION.

Good afternoon Troopers ... ..

59 degrees F. and Rain here in MA. Still getting the remnants of TS Jose. On Wednesday night, about 0500 hrs, the winds blew down a tree, here in the campground, that fell across a 5th wheel camper about 50 - 75 yds from us. It woke Cathy and me up from a sound sleep.  No one was in it at the time. I learned that a skylight on the roof was broken out. After the crew from the camp cleared away the tree, they tarped the trailer.

We are fine, got our new Awning rolled up and secured. Just get a little "Cabin fever" when kept indoors for long periods.

Made reservations at an RV Park in Tampa for the 24th of October. So it won't be too long before we are back home in Florida.

Hope all are doing well in health and weather. Take care, enjoy the day.

Toujours Pret!

Rain and wind up here in Lake Tahoe and Truckee. You can feel Autumn in the Air. They were calling for a light dusting of snow above 7000 feet and I am at 6500' hoping to finish up on Friday and get back home. No chains for the company 10 wheeler and backhoe trailer.

Wayne, the last couple days we had some on-and-off rain and wind but nothing serious. Summer's humidity is still hanging on. Sure would be nice to get some weather from the north. Jo and I are doing well. Our best to you and Vi.

HARRY, that storm coming up the east, is it going to cause you any bad weather, we sure are having our share of bad weather here this year.  All over the world.  I don't think we have had all of this in a long time. Sure don't need any more, that is for sure.  Hope you had a good birthday, tell Jo that we send our best.
