SONG OF THE WEEK

NOT SO MUCH A SONG THIS WEEK AS A MEMORY JOG. HOW MANY OF YOU REMEMBER LISTENING TO EPISODES OF THIS SUPER HERO ON AMERICAN FORCES NETWORK RADIO IN THE 1960'S AND 1970'S?

Good morning to all Troopers, well December is upon us, up at 0634, Read, exercised, now some Monday morning computer time. Had a request from a fellow trooper for pictures of the inside of an M-59 PC and a M-52 self propelled 105 Howitzer. Yesterday at Riverside National Cemetery our Honor Guard Team had the honor to serve at 10 services and have a free lunch. Thursdays are sure a bit slower than Friday's, Fridays keep us hopping, between 12/17 services, sometimes grabbing lunch on the go, but it is always an honor.

Sig, you have to laugh at inflation.  It was a reversible jacket and both sides were embroided.  We paid 100 Marks which was approximately $24.75 for the Jkt.

Harold, don't remember the jackets but if'n they were reverseable and embroidered on both sides that would be mucho expensive, my wife and I had an embroidery shop years ago and now she just does some light stuff. I have an OD colored jacket wit some patches sewn on, seven steps, Toujours Pret, Unit DUI and a large patch on the back that she did for me, it says

"2nd Armored Cavalry

        Regiment

     Border Patrol

Coburg, Ger. 58/60 " and has 2 smal Flour De Lies measures 9 3/4 wide by 6 1/8 and the letters are 3/4 high, black patch, yellow letters !

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
