Thanks Harold. I've got all those names and from the other side too, but the trouble is there were errors on that monument and also some names left off. Real nightmare trying to get it all sorted out.

I,m already started on the Memorial Day movie.  This memorial is in it.

Sig,  40 yrs is wonderful, you must be like me.  "yes dear, yes, coming, what else do you need dear?

Sig, she's probably just bluffing.

Good luck, Sig! I think I would probably disappear fishing somewhere.

Thanks Gene. Besides all the headache from the wreck, there is a big push from the Regiment through the Association and down to me and a couple friends who are trying to gather names and info for the replacement of the Gulf War memorial in Vilseck that was destroyed.

There are also plans to erect a memorial here in the states to all 2d Dragoon/2d Cavalry war losses and I'm forehead deep into this one. I've already been collecting info from enlistment records for 11 years so I got a jump on the game. Diving headlong into this helps distract me from the wreck headache. And each time I record a casualty, I say his name and rank out loud while rendering a slow salute, then I say "Dragoon for life" and wet my lips with brandy from my 2d Cavalry porcelain flask that you got me the brandy for at the reunion.

As there is a big rush for the casualty list, I am now skipping through and recording just these instead of all the 2d Cavalry records I find. I'll get the rest in years to come. But now I am finding a lot more casualties in a very short period, so my lips are keeping wet with brandy.

Harry, you know I'm a big fisherman so I asked the wife if at the begining of our renewal I could sing her Brad Paisley's song, " OH I love her, but I love to fish and have one of my 12 fishing poles in my hand. Her reply, " I'll kill you," so I guess that's out !

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
