What I remember was about Feb 10 to Feb 25 - 2 weeks was The Fashing Fest, almost like our Halloween with teenagers and young adults running around and playing around with any one they can.    From my memory it was always snowing then.  Don't forget in Feb I was still TDY with the 3rd AC.  It was a very weird experience but what fun

I found this online:  I think this was what was going on, sounds like fun too!  I saw people walking around in weird costumes, someone had a cowboy hat on.

Weiberfasching or Weiberfastnacht  This is the female Fasching, celebrated the last Thursday before Ash Wednesday. This year, it falls on Feb. 8. Weiberfasching starts in the morning where masked women take over cities and symbolically take the key of the town hall from the mayor.

Another Weiberfasching ritual is to cut men’s ties. Men, be prepared: Don’t wear your most expensive tie. Ladies, don’t forget your scissors.  The day ends with Weiber-Fasching-Parties, festivities in which men dress up as women. Some parties won’t allow men not dressed the part to enter. While men dress up as women and many women dress up as men, this is not mandatory. Women can wear any other costume, but men commonly dress as women.

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
