Dave, because i Have the Memorial I feel I want to memorialize our recent engagement casualties and why not.  These are our close 2nd cav brothers.  and fairly recent.

Harold,

So you want just the names from OEF (Afghanistan)?

Dave, for my memorial day movie, the response is not good.  I am going to memorialize the guys from enduring freedom 2nd dragoon/stryker/cavalry

Can you get the names off of the memorial?

Jim, I took the missus to Nurenberg in 1984, 25 yrs after discharge.  I amazed her showing I knew all the streets and took her to Merrill Barracks. and all over the old city at the same time I was amazed at the modernization the city did in 25 yrs.

Now tomorrow, March 7, is 61 yrs that I enlisted.

Dave, The only celebration I was in, was 1958 April when the 2nd Cav took the Colors from the  3rd Cav and I believe that picture is on my page..

Jim, take your missus back to the city you were stationed.  It will be great for you, promise.  When I saw Merrill Barracks after 25 yrs, just walking up the hill as it came into view, I started to shake and tear up. We had to surrender our passports to go inside the compound.

Jim, I saw pictures once where the 2d Cavalry was being honored at one in Nuremberg, the first time for a US military unit.

Could be, I've never seen one in Germany, seen many from Scotland.

I wonder if they were holding a Great Tattoo ceremony?

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
