Honor Flight’s Mission

GOALHelping every single veteran in America, willing and able to board a plane or a bus, to visit THEIR memorials.

PRIORITY:  Top priority is given to America’s most senior heroes — World War II era veterans, and any veteran with a terminal illness who wishes to visit THEIR memorial.  The program will naturally transition to Korean War, Vietnam War and all other veterans who served, on a chronological basis.

ELIGIBILITY:  All men and women serving stateside or overseas.

PHILOSOPHY:  Since America felt it was important to build a memorial to the service and the ultimate sacrifice of her veterans, the Honor Flight Network believes it’s equally important that these Veterans actually get to visit and experience THEIR memorial.

Good Morning all you troopers from this great 2nd ACR.

I was stopped by a group urging veterans to register for the Honor Freedom Flight.

They are finishing up with the Korean Vets this year and are starting on Vietnam Vets.

I told them I am a Cold War Vet and we are the troops that kept Western Europe safe from a Russian invasion.  And we did this from 1945 to 1991.  The longest standoff in history.

Dave you are the man that knows how to get the answers.  I was in Europe (with Sig) in 1957

Are we going to be considered?

Amazingly enough, we are supposed to have a couple days near 80 this week.

Had a lady die on the sidewalk in my front yard a few nights ago. Her car was rear-ended by a girl going over 100 miles per hour and the elderly lady's car ended up in my front yard. The other car ended up across the street where it took out a tree and just missed a telephone pole. The girl was arrested on vehicular homicide charges and possible DWI. There is a growing memorial in my front yard. They are standing in my driveway during the interview. http://komonews.com/news/local/its-destroyed-us-family-on-mom-kille...

Good Monday morning to all the Oldtimers and Troopers ... ..

Not too much to report at this time. Wife had a visit to the Vampire this morning, routine fasting blood work. Had breakfast out. In the midst of 3 days of scattered Thunderstorms and rain. Temperatures in the mid to upper 80s for the highs. Lows in the mid to upper 60s.

Broke out the tackle box, yesterday, and added some lures to it (that I bought a year ago). Now I need to dig out a rod and go wet a line in the river.

Hope all are doing well. Hopefully, Spring has finally sprung where you all are living, by now.

Enjoy the day, take care!  Toujours Pret!

You may consciously block it out of your mind or even totally forget about it, but it will haunt your dreams, Harry!

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
