Heck of an adventure, Frank. Might want to consider buying some Goodyear stock.

Good afternoon Troopers and Oldtimers ... ..

About 3 weeks ago we left the Campground at Lithia Springs Park, FL headed to Chipley, Fl and the Falling Waters State Park. Things went well until we got on I-10 headed West. Blew a tire on the camper just east of Talahassee. Called AAA, they came out changed the tire, and we were on our way. Lost about an hour of time. (that blow out did some minor damage to the propane line, but no leakage)  Got to the State Park, checked in, set up camp.  Next day went in to Chipley and a Walmart, replaced the tire. Next day , drove to the trail head and picnic area for the falls. Walked to the falls which drops into a 100 ft deep sink hole, followed the trail/boardwalk to the lake and swimming area, then back to the car and to camp. The next day, we drove to Marianna, FL  and toured the  Caverns at another State Park.  Stayed at Falling Waters for a week. Next planned stop was Andersonville, GA, site of the Civil War Prison Camp.

Got a good start on our travel day, headed North towards Dothan, Ala. About the time we crossed the ALA line, heard a loud thump, trailer seemed all right so kept going. Decided to stop at the Alabama Welcome station and rest area. Pulled in, did a walk around of the rig, found the tread had come off of the  Spare tire that we put on at the first flat tire and it had finished off the propane line. Had to shut off the tank to stop the leak. Now we cannot use the stove/oven or run the fridge on propane , just electric. Called AAA (again) 2 plus hour wait for them to get there and change the tire. Back on the road headed to Andersonville. Got to Plains, GA (home of ex President Jimmy Carter) and blew out the rear tire on the same side of the trailer. NO SPARE TIRE!  Fortunately, we were close to a body shop and he came down to look at things, helped guide me to back up into his drive and close to his shop bays, jacked the trailer up and took the tire off. He knew a tire service, down the road and called them for us. I talked to the guy, he had a tire that would fit, came and took our tire and rim, changed it out and brought it back, put it on for us. $90 total for tire and service call. We thanked both men for their help and assistance. Back on the road and finally got to the Andersonville RV Park around 9:00 PM. Pull through site, got in, parked, hooked up water and electric, went in showered and went to bed.

Next morning, we finished setting up the camper and walked the 2 blocks to the village to pay for the campsite. That's enough for tonight. Will finish the tale a bit later.

No problem Harry, I am glad its the phone having issues and not you or the family stay well my friend . Hey those rotary phones are usually pretty tough, my buddy has one that he throws at the wall every now and then and its still hanging in there.

Shannon, I am so sorry I missed your call. I have been having a lot of issues with my phone.  It's so old it still uses a rotary dial. :-) I know I've been AWOL for awhile.  No excuses, just been more reflective lately. Thank you for checking in.  I guess it's been longer than I realized.

Monday morning in a brand new month, thought it wise to check in as to not be counted as AWOL. Got my hot cocoa, suns up and shining ( so much for the rain they predicted ) exercised and getting ready to tackle my outdoor chores. Sold a golf cart over the weekend. All's well in good old So. Cal.
