Harold, I am getting thru our boxes a little at a time and trying to throw away quite a bit and donate some also. I have a storage shed and a small shed in the backyard full of stuff as well. I may try and have a garage sale when the weather warms up. I plan on bringing a lot to the new house as well,  in the town of Crump about twenty miles away they have a flea market every weekend that makes up most of main street I am planning on getting a table and selling my goods whenever I can. I met a retired CSM there last weekend that was selling his goods, he was a Tanker and Scout he said he was on the Border at Fulda Gap in the mid 80's We are moving from 900 sq. ft. into 1900 sq. ft. so I am probably going to more furniture. Thanks for the words of encouragement. Stay well.

Gene, I sure can relate to accumulating " stuff " I have been at it for quite awhile now and am in the process of thinning out,  Its kind of like Christmas every time I open one of my boxes and find something I forgot about. I hope to see you at the reunion.

Shannon,  Moved to FL 25 yrs ago and since moved 3 times in S. FL.

Each time we downsizes.  Now we have a condo apartment about 1850 sq ft.

All the stuff we had from the House was over 50 cartons besides furniture.

We made sure we opened at least 5 cartons a day.  Most of the 'stuff' we threw out when we emptied.  In the condo we were not allowed to have a garage sale.

so either we donated it, gave it away, or threw it out

Best of luck , man

Shannon, wish you the best on your move. we did that 21 years ago on our move from nj to florida. we just couldn"t believe the "stuff" we had accumualated after 40 some years and had to get rid of.now that we"re here for 21 years it seems like we still have a lot of stuff. oh well.i guess to much stuff is better than not enough stuff!

My x-wife is from Savannah, been there many times. Lots of great Civil War history around there. I've got a Son in Franklin with a Granddaughter I've never seen. If i get down that way I'll surely look you up.

Might have to take you up on that sometime, Brother.

Dave, you are welcome anytime Brother,  as well as all of our other brothers from other mother's. I hope to always have a warm place to sleep and a cold Bier to drink.

Yeah Harry, that's what it looked like in my kitchen. Couldn't find the directions on the pickles and olives so they got left out.

Congrats, Shannon! Real glad to see you guys are getting out of there finally. Now that you are a lot farther away, maybe I'll drop by sometime. ;-)

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
