Really a bummer of my brother in law's passing,we grew up together and had caroused together as young rebels...will be missed..my sister is strong and will be ok,strong and great family they have, plenty of support there as well as her brothers and sisters.

Well we got to Albuquerque around 9 that evening then to get a rental car which I already had booked through Expedia,as all of this ,flight, rental car,and motel. The ladies were fantastic but something came up about needing two photo IDs, which I only had one, drivers liscence,my debit card was a plain one,no photo. They needed me to talk to the manager and he wouldn't budge and tried to say that this rental hadn't been paid for yet,,and I knew it had through the booking with the Expedia,it was taken out of our checking anyways.....he would take a large deposit which I wasn't inclined to do!! Do we got a taxi and went on to our motel, enroute the taxi driver suggested Enterprise..got to our motel and called it a day!!!everything with the motel was great, the folks there were friendly and accommodating.Quality Inn there in Rio Rancho..next morning the Don and I walked a few blocks to Enterprise and finally got a car.whew!!!could have had my sister come and get us but I didn't want to bother, she had offered us a room at her house but again didn't want to impose, she had her family there, it all worked out.

My son and I spent the remainder of the afternoon in s airport restaurant and s few shops there and just watching the comings and going there, kinda fun watching!!especially the kids on the escalators, the flat ones to minimize ones walking!!they were pretty entertained,as I was..Big airport there in Denver. The young waitresses there in the restaurant were a breath if fresh air, they had me entertained with them allowing me to flirt with them!!or I was enter taining them??? I'm pretty harmless and I think they had that figured!! Did accomplish embarrassing my son!!!but he's ok with that!! he's use to it!!

After refueling and back to taxying some more for another open runway, I think this was 4 hours later we finally got airborne...so of course that delay affected our connecting flight from Denver to Albuquerque. There were some early afternoon flights to Albuquerque but they were already full by the time I talked to agents!!of course!!only next flight wouldn't be until that night,6:00. Darn lady on the phone wouldn't speak up so I could hear her, we exchanged some words, she ended up apologizeing after I told her I was only trying to get to a funeral and am not in a mood for much discussion!!! While on the phone a young 2/2 trooper seen my 2ACR hat on and came up and spoke to me asking what squadron I was with, told him exchanged a few good exchanges and he gave me a 2/2 challenge coin, cool..I was still on the phone do couldn't visit much, sure would have enjoyed that and then he was off.

Got back from Albuquerque last Sunday night, whoa what a ride that was with delays because of the weather here in the Midwest. Taxied around Minneapolis airport trying to find an open runway and stopping twice to drive and then when we finally got to an open runway we had to wait for two planes who had to land soon due to low fuel, do by the time one came in our pilot decided we would need to return to the terminal for refueling, which I guess is ok since airborne not a good place to run out of fuel!!!

Harry, we have no idea how small, when I retired in 02 we bought her and moved from Whittier, Ca, to Hemet. Come to find out my neighbor across the street had to go back to Hillside N.J. for his daughter who had a brain anurisim. Found out his son in law worked for the same company I worked for back there. When he told me his son in laws name, I recognzied it immeadeatly, he was my old fishing partner.

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
