Nice find on EBAY Dave. Did you recognize the name when you saw it or did you research his name and found that information ? Good job.

good morning troopers, thanks for all the birthday wishes, busy day, breakfast with some family members, Doctors visit in the late afternoon, 3 weeks of treatments down, 2 1/2 more to go. Dinner at a good Mexican restaraunt with the family. Lot's of love from friends on FB and church folk, and all with my sweetheart at my side, great day !

One of my latest eBay finds. It's a chrome-plated presentation bayonet for an M-1 Garand. If you look real close, engraved in the blood groove is "CSM JOSEPH FOGLIO 002".

Joseph Foglio ended his military career in 1971 as the Regimental Command Sergeant Major of the 2d Armored Cavalry Regiment. He was the second Command Sergeant Major to hold that position after the rank of CSM was created in the mid-1960's. He was presented with this bayonet when he retired.

I got it for $51.99 plus S&H. Only one other person bid on it.

No problem Dave.  I have many answers to questions I don't know.

Started my day off with a good laugh. Thanks Harry, no more questions for now.

I woke up early this morning, THAT'S why.

Dave, I watched Howdy Doody when I was a youngster but he always wore loose fitting costumes.  So I can't answer your question. He seemed to always be smiling when Buffalo Bob was around, and there were rumors about the two of them but never proved one way or the other.  Clarabell was always clowning around.  Any more questions?

Always have liked Neil Diamond. Had his Hot August Night album many years ago.

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
