Figured it was about time I changed the song of the day. RIP LEON REDBONE.

So Shannon, you building up any frequent traveler miles? Should have enough for a new Harley by the time you get done!

Glad to hear you rode them quakes out Sig. Part of life in California. I am currently parked in a parking lot waiting for this storm to pass here in East Denver. should be in KCMO by tomorrow afternoon. Stay well all.

Thanks for the SITREP Sig. Glad to hear you rode it out OK.

We've got some pretty nasty fault lines up here too. I rode out a 6.8, the Nisqually quake of 2001, on top of a very steep roof we were getting ready to put 50 year shingles on. We had tons of shingles stacked on toe-boards and all we could do was scramble up on top of them and hang on for the ride. We were about 18 miles from the epicenter and got jolted pretty good. "Oh Well" was playing on the radio.

On the road again with a load , somewhere in Nevada on the way to KCMO to visit the new grandbaby and pick up Linda and head on down to Tennessee from there. Hope to be there by Sunday. Stay well Brothers...

Ok, for all you that don't do facebook, we are 175 miles south of Ridgecrest. Thursday morning was a long roller, after the down grade it was a 6.4 quake, pretty strong. Friday evening was another longer roller 7.1 and there was no damage here, just a couple of things on my bookcases knocked over. Just remember the news media always shows the worst. No lives lost due to the quakes but some major damage in the area, which is not highly populated or it would have been worse. I'll still take a few quakes over Tornado's & Hurricanes. All's well here in the Lower Desert of Southern California !

Two Army boys, Leroy & Jasper, from the hills of Kentucky, were promoted right from privates to Sergeants because of their great marksmanship with rifles.

Not long after, they're out for a walk and Leroy says, "Hey, Jasper, There's the NCO Club. Let's you and Me stop in." "But we's privates," protests Jasper. "We's sergeants now," says Leroy, pulling him inside. "Now, Jasper, I'm a gonna sit down and have me a drink." "But we's privates," says Jasper. "Are you blind, boy?" asks Leroy, pointing at his stripes. We's sergeants now, so hush your mouth!"

So they have their drinks and pretty soon a hooker comes up to Leroy. "You're cute," she says, "and I'd like to date you, but I've got a bad case of gonorrhea." "Leroy pulls his friend to the side and whispers, "Jasper, go look in the dictionary and see what gonorrhea means. If it's okay, give me the okay sign."

So Jasper goes to look it up, comes back and gives Leroy the big okay sign. Three weeks later Leroy is laid up in the infirmary with a terrible case of gonorrhea.

"Jasper," he says, "why did you give me the okay sign?"

"Well Leroy, in the dictionary, it says gonorrhea affects only the privates." He points to his stripes. "But we's sergeants now!"

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
