 The latest proposed 11,900 troop withdrawal from Europe, 9,500 from Germany about 6,400 will return to the US this include the 2nd Cav. and the rest will be preposition to other NATO countries, with emphasis on:Poland and the Baltic states. Reducing the number of US service members in Germany to about 24,000. See attached map of Germany, For me I have mix feelings, I think the 2nd should stay exactly where they are, whats your opinion? Howdy All;

Just stopped by to say I'm still alive and kicking. Still working every day start at 4am. Got a few more Grandkids and a new Son-in-Law, and a new dog, really like the dog. Other than that all is well. I drop by once in awhile to catch up on the news. Have a great weekend.

Harold, 4th Armored was Patton's spearhead during his march across Europe in WW II, and we were their eyes and ears out front picking targets and starting fights. When Patton died, 4th Armored and 2d Cav were the principle honor guards.

Dave, What do you know about the 4th armored in stuttgart in 1958?

Another Veteran moved into our complex who was in 4th Armored  1957-1959

Did they relate to us in anyway?

Chief, in my day 58/60 during a river fording practice somewhere around Bamberg some soldier forgot to install the fording plugs in his M-59 APC and it ended up at the bottom of the river, fortunatly we had a Lt. in the Battalion that was scuba certified but it took him several tries because the water was so muddy but he did succede in getting the D ding on the tow hole and they dragged the M-59 out of the river. Never heard if the soldier got busted !
