Thanks Robert, I'm going to look into it. Has to be cheaper than trying to fix the old computer, which I was tempted to try.

Gene, as of this morning the ElDorado fire is at 13, 715 acres and 31% containment and has been going on since 9/9/20.

Dave Gettman:

It is bad that your old computer gave up the ghost. BUT, from my own experience, the stuff on the hard drive is still just sitting there.  I bought a "box" that I put my old hard drive into and my new computer just reads the old files via a USB port. I reclaimed e-mail, pictures, et cetera...

Gene, well we are about 20/25 miles to the southwest of the El Dorado fire, we were able to see the smoke Saturday and Sunday and one of our friends posted pictures of the flames Sunday night. We are at a much lower elevation than where the fire is and I have a good friend who lives in Yucaipa where the fire started but he is on the west end of town. Some person started it by setting off prrotechnics at the Yucaipa park, as of this AM it was at over 7000 acres and when we came home from church Sunday afternoon there was a fire going to the southwest of us also but it was small and they got it under control quickly. The problem has been the extreme heat here in the lower ( elev ) desert. All last week in the triple digits and windy. We are safe as were flatlanders !

Got a major battle going on with the folks that host this site.

I just paid them $600 at the end of April to cover a year of Dragoon Base. Then they forced us into upgrading from NING 2.0 to NING 3.0 but offered a half price deal on the $1200 plan, which I accepted.

Figured they would pro-rate the cost since we still have 8 months on the old plan. HA!!! They tried to hit my bank account for $1200 yesterday, but thankfully the bank denied the charge. Just sent NING a nasty letter and waiting for a reply.

Too cloudy, Harry. I had pictures and documents on a back-up hard drive so I have those, but all my documents are read-only now for some reason and I can't make changes to them anymore. Gotta get that figured out.

Damn, I was just getting comfortable with that other computer and starting to get it figured out after 12 years and it has to go and die on me. This new one better outlive me.

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
