Harry, checked my GPX it only does CD, Cass.,33's 45s. But I have a separate turn table that will play the old 78s. I have a program put out by Magix called audio cleaning Lab 3.0 that takes scraching noise, hissing and all really cleans all the noise. 39.00 and really does a fine job.

Dave,
Try info@kabusa.com for your needle. Phone 908-754-1479. Located here in beautiful New Joisey.

A regular 78 won't work. Gotta have a special needle for these old Edison records. Thinking about hitting some antique shops. I have an old treadle sewing machine I'd be willing to give them if they'd just let me PLAY MY RECORD!

I'm more into doowop but do also like the big bands. Have a huge collection from the 40's on.

I have one by Crosley that will transfer 45's and lp's directly to cd. There is also one that will put cassetts directly to cd.

That is awesome Dave.
I know this is not what you want, but a friend of mine just acquired a turntable from Costco, that converts your old vinyl to a digital signal for input into your putr. (Does not harm the old vinyl)
Think he said it was only $109.00.

I have an old Edison 78 with the song "In The Second Cavalry" as one side, but I can't find anything to play it on so I don't know what the song sounds like. I had four of them and gave one to the 2nd Cavalry Museum, one to the President of the 2nd Cavalry Association, Tom Molino, and one to the 74th Regimental Command Sergeant Major, CSM Victor Martinez. So far nobody has found anything to play one on.

You know I still have over 225 old 33 records some I bought back in the 60's, still put out some beautiful music. I have a lot of the big band era and a mixture of all types of music. They sound real good, I have 4 different sets of speakers, set up so I can select the sound I want through my amplifier. I put this group together. I talked to a couple of music stores, they said people are looking around buying the old 33's and 78's again. When I stationed in Amberg I bought a grundig console, which I sold to my nephew, it is still working over48 years. I still love to listen to the old ones.

I just have to say it wont be long and CD's will be obsolete also.
And actually all ready are, with the iPod.
Plus I have 600 or more cassette tapes, that I never play anymore.
The camera chips and memory sticks are the new rave. The latest NewEgg.com ad, had a 32G stick for $39.99.
