That's fantastic, Speed. He sure has some elite company with him.

I wonder if there are any other father/son combinations on the rolls?

my Dad is listed on line #9 (LTC Evert S Thomas). somewhere in a closet, is my certificate. If it surfaces, I'll provide a copy or at lest the appropriate dates.

I have never been inducted into the Honorary Squadron, but I joined this group so I could share the following....

I recently purchased a few 2d Cav anniversary books and a yearbook from the early 1950's. In the 1954 yearbook was a separate 8x10 black and white glossy photo of the 2nd and 3rd pages from the original Register of Officers belonging to the Honorary Squadron of 2nd United States Dragoons.

Ray, the last time I saw the book, the guy that ran the 2nd Cav museum at Fort Lewis had it. So I would assume it's with them in Vilseck.

I have been looking for this site for years. I was inducted by Col Charles P. Graham on Jan 7 1972. If anyone knows where the book is I'm on page 48. What a kick.

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
