Was with L Troop 1990 - 1992. One of the best units I ever served in as a grunt. Proud to be a part of the 2nd ACR history. Hope I met the high standards or even set a few higher standards while there. Sure was sad to shut down the unit. For this old grunt all I can say is "Once a Trooper always a Trooper!"

I was in I Troop from 1973 - 1977 ' 2nd Platoon. I 29 was my beast back then. Lots of time in the Field and on the border, One really long stint while they were remodeling the barracks. Still - all in all good memories of those times.

I was in I Troop from 1974-1976, 3rd PLT with Steven Carpenter, Steve O Dell, David Hooker Tony Rodriguaz. I was a driver on I-36 it got blown up in the field in 1975 or 76. Our CO was Capt Smoke Crumly, ISG Tadlock.

Anybody from those day at the Berg shout out. The best time in the Cav.

I was stationed in Amberg from 85 to 90, started off in K-trp then HHT and ended with I-trp. while in HHT I was Squadron promotions cleck ,Squadron Distro clerk,Squadron Safety NCO and also spent time as Squadron Mail Room NCO.

The time I spent in Amberg was the highlight of my 14 years

Just for the information of the group.
Some here are already members but we have a facebook page called Pond Barracks that is growing extremely fast. All who served in Amberg are welcome and the page is very active. Lots of photos and discussion about Amberg, Graf, Hoenfels, Camp Reed and May.

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
