Thanks Wayne. Surprisingly enough my hearing is still pretty darn good despite all the abuse my ears have had. I have a lot of ringing in my ears pretty often though, and it gets loud enough I'm surprised other people in the room can't hear it too.

Those of you, who lost most of your hearing in the service like myself, the government thru a company called Caption Call have installed a special phone in my home at no cost to me.  I have regular phones for the family, but I  have a special phone on my desk which displays what the other person is saying to me, it allows me to read what is said. Sure comes in handy.  If any one needs information on this, I think I still have a copy of the form for this here some where.

Kalifornia would tax the air we breath if they could find away to do it ! I did not know we could get the V on our license here, and they want to charge $5.00 I guess I should not be surprised. We are suppose to get a big fuel tax hike and DMV vehicle registration fee increases, big hikes before the end of the year. It is already outrageous It still cost me close to $400.00 a year to register my 2000 ford f 350 and now they want more. This state is a lost cause and our governor is senile. I cant wait to retire and move out of this state, and my family has been here for 5 generations but it is not the same place I grew up that is for sure.

Dick, my dad's outfit helped sew up the Ruhr Pocket, sealing the fate of a lot of German soldiers. Maybe our dad's crossed paths.

Hope the VA comes through for you on those hearing aids. I SAID, I HOPE THE VA COMES THROUGH FOR YOU.......!!!! [Bad joke]

And then there is California, making $5 off every veteran who is trying to get a little bit of what is owed them. I really like what they are doing in Florida though with the property taxes.

I could not get a VA card, although I am appealing them rejecting my application for hearing aids, through the VFW is appealing for me.  I was supposed to have a video hearing this year at the County of San Diego, Veterans Office, it does appear that will happen. I do realize that there are more deserving. The County of SD did issue me a Veterans card, and I to have enjoyed discounts at Home Depot, etc.

BTW I found out from a acquaintance who is a retired LTC, USMC, Aviator, who was flying the 2nd heiicopter at the ill fated attempt to rescue our Embassy staff in Iran in 79, moved to Florida, where Combat Veterans do not have to pay property taxes!  I did consider volunteering for VN for a nano second, bust considered wisely not to so. (By my Father who served 9 months of continuous combat in the Ruhr.  I will be wearing his Missou-Tissou sp? French Military watch when I arrive in Paris tomorrow, its a wind up. TP

PS CA. will add the Veteran label to those renewing for $5.00!

Thanks Jim. Always helps to have the cops on your side.

Sig, my doctor has been pushing me for years to keep taking blood pressure meds. I keep telling her they are causing me to become severely dehydrated but she doesn't believe me so I just quit taking them over a month ago.

The severe muscle cramps I was having all the time stopped and my severe headaches have eased up quite a bit. I bought a new blood pressure tester and my numbers have been very good, nowhere near the high level I get at the VA during every visit.

Jim, in S. FL they charged me $1.00 to have the V put on.  and yes Cops are very generous when they see that 'V'

Tomorrow I am seeing the nutritionist at the VA.  She is very good.  I lost 9 lbs with her instructions.  I don't think medicare pays for a nutritionist.

There is no charge for the Veterans designation added to your license, but if you have a VA card you don't really need it. Unless, the next cop that asks for your license and sees your a vet who knows ? :=)
