Richie at Camp Pitman - 1965   Regrettably, D'Agosta died in 1969 of a drug overdose.  We were both California (LA) boys and stayed in contact after our return.  The last time I saw him he was walking down the beach in Malibu, totally coincidental, and he was telling me he was looking forward to getting back to Vallejo and the Napa Valley, which is where he was originally from.  He said, he had grown so disillusioned with Hollywood (he wanted to become an actor) and couldn't wait to get the hell outa here!  He never made it

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
