That was the best barracks ever! It was sad when we had to move to the rock. No more attic parties and downtown 10 min after getting off. When you walked along the side, you had best be looking for falling objects! Most of the windows had beer bottles getting cold on the ledges. I'm sure the locals got to sleep in a bit more when we left. no more PT runs thru the streets.

My brother broke all the windows out of the motor pool there with his slingshot one Sunday morning in 1954 and got a ride home in an MP jeep. My dad, the battalion motor officer at the time, had to replace all the windows.

We lived on Parsifalstrasse, right across the street from the officer's club.

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
