Snow back in the day made things quiet and peaceful, although

I can still smell the diesel fuel in the air and hear tire chains making their noise.

From Bamberg, I spent a few weeks at Pond Barracks doing training, around 1985 time frame.

Traveled to Amberg many times, even during the 90’s

Many a day and night spent on the gate. Remember the basement across the street where those on guard duty spent their off time sleeping? Those were some times...

Merry Christmas to all that served, those who serve today, and those who will serve tomorrow.

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
