John,I left Pond Barracks in 1971.Been 39years but I don't remember the steps and the ramp with the railing when I was there.I remember across the street was the COL. and the Major's homes.And around 6 or 8 buildings for the regular Army guys and their families.Then down the street was the Roma pizza place in the hi-rise german building with the offices and apartments.Then way down the street was the Ammo dump and Air Strip.

i remember this side gate.would go down to a pub to drink beer.

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
