This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.

Hi Andy,
Thanks for your reply. I remember all of the C TRP 1st PLT folks you mentioned very well. SFC Gravens had a superb platoon. His and mine worked together like a well oiled machine...good times. I recognise your face and of course LT Hovey as well. Needless to say as a PSG in 2 ACR we had losts of interactions with both the SOC and ROC teams. You are right it can be uncanny how some relationships in the Military (especially those in the CAV) seemed to follow one. SGT Cablay was my first squad leader in G TRP 2/11 ACR in Bad Kissingen, Germany in early 1976. He and I followed each other and were assigned together in C TRP he as my 1SG, and again as 1SGs together in 2-64 Armor, There he had HHC and I had D Co. We both were selected as Sergeant's Major on the same promotion list. Stay healthy and safe.
unbelieveable your photo is right next to my photo. I hope all is well with you.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANDY
Wishing you many more, from all of us at DragoonBase!!!
How are you doing? Paul Hovey is on the site now. Do you remember him? LT Hovey then.
Take care,
Ed
Not the greatest shots but I'll scan them in. I've recently taken up photography again so it's funny to see just how much I didn't know how to use my camera back in the day.
