Well, we can't all be lazy and retired, Bill. Somebody has to shovel the coal to keep this big machine going. Hope all is well with you in Lederhosen Land.

OUCH! Had shoulder surgery several years ago by a real hack. Never been the same since. Constantly having trouble with pain and numbness.

Supposed to be a 45 minute office procedure with a scope. He ended up cutting the end off my collar bone and didn't tell me.

An hour and a half later I'm home digging up my sewer pipes and chopping firewood with my arm in a sling, thinking I just had a simple procedure. When the anesthetic wore off I was a hurtin' unit!

Doctor moved to Kalifornia almost immediately.

Thanks Bill,

Sorry I didn't get a chance to see you. Only had time for a quick drive through of Christensen Barracks, then it was back on the autobahn. Didn't even stop to take any photos.

The trip was great (except for the planes), and I hope I'm able to do it again. My birthday was one of the best ever, surrounded by over 5000 Dragoons and the sound of cannon fire...UNREAL!!!!

Happy birthday Bill!

I'll be in Germany in about five weeks. I'll try to make it up to Bayreuth to see you, Siegbert Marquart, and Jack Miller.

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
