Tell us a little about your cav days.
Patrolling the East German and Czechoslovakian border was one of the most fascinating parts of my life. I participated on 15 Border tours, mostly at Camp Gates and a few at Camp Hof, one Border tour at Camp Pittman in Weiden. Spent a year at Squadron Border Operations as well as transitioning from a cold War to High intensity conflict of the Gulf war while in 1st Squadron. Great Unit.
Tell us a little about you now.
I work as a Subject Matter Expert for a U.S. Army simulation system called the “CCTT –Close Combat Tactical Trainer” in Orlando Florida. I get a chance to travel back to Germany now and then, I always drive back to see the Rock. Last time I was there, the names on the wall could still be seen.

I got to Squadron 3 weeks before we deployed. When we got back from deployment, I stayed in C Trp until after gunnery--then I went to the S-1-- that's probably why you can't place me.

SGT West,

I remember you during the Gulf War. I was in 3rd Plt with Lt Groton and SFC Donaldson. I was on Lt Groton's track.

2d DRAGOONS

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
