"I'll have to dig up my pictures and scan them, might be something in there you can use. I had a hell of a time, we mostly got  deployed to Camp Reed. Tons of patrols and I was the border ops NCO on my last. "

Eric,just athought, you are pursuing info on 2nd Cav,I think particulary cold war  info and maybe this angle is not of interest to your research,anyway we have agentleman on the base who was on the other side of the Czeck border (69- 70)    we have friended each other and have exchanged a few  comments ,,, he evidently was on a listening post, monitered our radio tranmission ,, interesting  conversations and such!! pretty decent guy.. he hasn't been on long.. anyway I thought I throw this at you... It seems to be part of our history...

9th Colonel of the Regiment David R. Clendenin 29 Oct 1888 – 2 Apr 1891



This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
