Tell us a little about your cav days.
I really enjoyed the Border Tours. Being in the Cav. made for a hard married life when your wife was in country, but we managed. Because we were in the field so much and the lack of funds (unsponsered wife) we did not get to travel much. I did love going on Volksmarches. Good time, good food and great beer. You always got meet interesting people on the marches. While assigned to H Co., I reenlisted on the Border. That was a great honor to be allowed to do that. To rededicate my self in front of the Commies was awesome to say the least.
Tell us a little about you now.
Got out in 1999. Became a truck driver. Didn't like that, became a Hospital Tech. Didn't like that and became a Deputy Sheriff in the Corrections Division and moved over to the Prisoner Transport Division and now I am the senior deputy looking to retire in a couple of years. I am on my third (3rd) marriage and it looks like its going to last for the duration. Between the three marriages, I have five children. My Only son is a three tour Iraq War Veteran.

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
