Tell us a little about your cav days.
Some of the best days on my life. We worked hard and played hard. The border duty gave us a perspective many never grasped. How can I forget Graf, snow, beer, and some of the craziest fellows I had the great fortune to know!
Tell us a little about you now.
BS in Geological Engineering. U of A 1985. Worked in mining, civil consulting, contaminated soil and groundwater cleanup. Now I am with the Arizona Department of Transportation in Utility & Railroad Engineering. Married with two children. My son starts college this year (Fall 2011) and also is going into Army ROTC. My Daughter is a HS Sophomore and will be the next great music sensation, or President - she hasn't made up her mind.

Yes, it was that long ago.  I ETS'd in Jan of '80 from Ft. Benning - PSG of the Scout Plt in an Infantry Combat Support Co.  What Fun !  The Grunts had no idea what to do with us.

I have not been having any luck finding any more photos to post, but if I find 'em I'll post 'em.  I recognized most of the names in your post, but would have been hard pressed to come up with them myself.

My son is out of college, married, and has 2 little girls - 4 1/2 and 1 yrs, so I am officially a granddad.  Does not seem possible, but it is.

It was great to hear from you!!!!

Toujours Pret Eric,
Welcome to the new DragoonBase, the new Base has plenty of newer features, lots of sub-groups,(ie,F-Trp,Amberg,Medics,etc.) and links for 2nd Cav News and History.
Robb Russell has posted some tips for navigating the site (ie,photos, links, ect) in the Forum.
Make sure you stop by and read the latest Tacoma Dave ‘Triva Quiz’, learn some 2nd Cav history and you can even win a kool prize.
If you need any help, you can contact Robb, or any of the 5 admins listed at the top of the page, or just yell out, another member may be able to help you.
And our only wish, ‘Keep it clean’, use our Real names/with Pictures(pix from back in the day, work best for searching for Brothers, but any picture will do).
And that you please tell all your friends about the new DragoonBase.

Thanks again for joining Dragoon Base, and for your service to our great country,
Jesse Kelley
