Connecting the Troopers of Today with the Veterans of Yesterday.
Hi - Gerald King - Chief Crump here, I thought you would like to see photos Col. Hudachek and Col. Seigler and if you would like to see more photos from the Rock from 1972-2009 check out my site. Dragoon for life - Chief.
Sorry it took so long to see your comment, I remember Sgt. Carter S/4. I live on First Street Westfield. Stop by for a beer if your still local.

Wow!! You sure do have a great memory! How the heck are you? What are you up to these days?
Appreicate that Gerald, as time passes by we forget names etc, but it does seem like capt. barnes name was James, he was a really good guy, I wasn't around to long after he got to the Rock, I remember coming back from Hoenfels in May of 1970, he needed to go back to the Rock for something and I was going to drive him back, Well I didn't have but about 30days left and we had about another week or so at hoenfels. SFC wheaton was our Section leader and I told him I was going to stay at the Rock and go ahead and start clearing post. he said NO, you'll have plenty of time for that when you get back...Well I told CPT Barnes what he said and told me if I wanted to go ahead and start clearing the post that would be alright with him, I told him SFC wheaton wasn't going to like that, and he laughed, let him get mad, who outranks who.ha so I went ahead and started clearing post and when SFC wheaton got back, he said Robi why did'nt you come back, I told him I had orders to clear post, and he shook his head with a smile, . I was very lucky to be around such a GREAT BUNCH OF MEN ! WOW
Gerald, I sure wish I had more information about him, I remember he was a young man, ( guessing around 25 or so at the time ) and just got promoted to captain when he was assigned to the S-2 Section at the Rock, I wish I had gotten more information from people than I did, I do still stay in contact with one of my buddy's of over 40 years ago. Have you stayed in contact with any of them over the years ?.anyhow been good talking to you.Toujours Pret
Welcome Gerald, you said you worked with a Cpt Barnes, Just wondering if might have been the same CPT Barnes that came from the S-2 section stationed on the Rock...I was there until June 1970..
This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
