All of 1980 & 1981.
Tell us a little about your cav days.
2 of the best years of my life. I learned a bit more German than most GIs (had a knack, I guess), and it took me far with the German people. The more German you tried to speak there.... the more English THEY seemed to know! LoL
Also, the further I got from a GI town, the nice people were to me! I made many wonderful friends, German and American.
Like I said... 2 of the best years of my life.
And, of course, I met a girl...... . Wish I could reach out to her, just to say "Hi", and wish her the best.
I loved Germany.

9th Colonel of the Regiment David R. Clendenin 29 Oct 1888 – 2 Apr 1891



This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
