Hey Joe,my name is Joe Elchert (Doc),,,I seen your message on dragoon base a couple of days ago I think it was from 2012,anyway I remember your name and you wrote that you were looking for bogey and mike, from D batterry in Amberg,,Im still in touch with both of them,I just talked to them yesterday...............Terry Trplett and Mike Piotrowski. I was in 59th ADA for a minute before going to 2d Cav. It was a Hawk missile battery in Hanau. They sent me there after I got kicked out of the MP's for throwing a blanket party on a General's nephew. Some people just can't take a joke! (We beat the SHIT out of him with bars of soap in socks while others held him down with a blanket over him)
Anyway, at the 59th I somehow miraculously came up with an MOS for an advanced Hawk missile guidance system mechanic. I'd never heard of a Hawk missile, so they decided they were going to make me a gate guard on a remote mountain top missile site.
Between that and the company clerk always hitting on me trying to get in my pants, I went AWOL. Found out later the company clerk was Perry Watkins, the guy the Army later started the "don't ask, don't tell" policy over.
When I finally got caught a couple weeks later, it was off to the Czech border and the 2d Cav. No place left to run!!
oh yah,,, one more quick point on AADCOMM (?) site not sure myself but others mite, like Dave Gettman (has alot of resources) or maybe Thomas Blaskiez(?sp) he was in redeye and had left just before we got there ... lots of good people at this base.....
